Initially started 9 years ago as a series of small workshops and meetups, it has gradually grown into a start-up conference.
It is now the largest tech conference in the Middle East, attracting over 100 large companies and 7,000 attendees from all over the world, along with over 300 startups. In the video above, STEP Confernce CEO Ray Dargham tells us that in 2013, only 8 startups gathered.
Ray Dargham made his name even more famous when he was named to Forbes Arab Under 30 in 2018. During his university days in Beirut, Lebanon, he sensed the growing startup fever in Silicon Valley and started his own business in Dubai after university. The company has grown steadily since then, raising $2M from the UK media.
